Septic:

A septic tank is one of the simplest and cheapest methods of wastewater pre-treatment, which consists of a tank that is divided into two parts by a wall and the wastewater flows at a slow and intermittent rate. It is based on physical and biological treatment. In this system, solids and sedimentable wastewater are deposited in the bottom of the tank after entering the septic tank and are separated from the wastewater stream.

In the first part, the wastewater is digested by anaerobic bacteria and as a result of interactions, the suspended sediments are deposited in the form of sludge in the bottom of the warehouse and fats and floating oils also accumulate on the surface. Due to the activity of microorganisms, part of the organic matter is decomposed and converted into gas and energy.

The connection between the first and the second part is such that it is not possible for the sediment and floating fats to pass from the first part to the second part, and thus the clarified effluent is transferred to the second part. Finally, the effluent exits the septic tank through an outlet pipe. From septic tanks for preliminary wastewater treatment.

Balancing the quantity and quality of wastewater and collecting wastewater from different points and pumping it is used. The use of septic tanks can be found in homes, restaurants, hotels, villa towns, which are far from accessible sewage collection networks. It should be noted that septic tanks with removal efficiency of more than 40-60% can not be mentioned as a wastewater treatment system with environmental efficiencies and this system is mostly used as a pre-treatment and sludge pumping station in wastewater treatment packages.
