Reverse osmosis water treatment

Reverse osmosis water treatment

One of the modern methods in water treatment industry is reverse osmosis method. Reverse osmosis is a physical process that can be prepared from a solution (solvent + impure) with the help of a semi-permeable membrane, almost pure solvent. Reverse osmosis can remove 99% of dissolved minerals and 97% of colloidal organic matter in water. Reverse osmosis can reduce the TDS of raw water by up to 99%. In practice, reducing the TDS to 95% is normal, the elimination of bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms with the reverse osmosis method is 100% possible.

Advantages of reverse osmosis system:

  1. The system is more cost-effective than other methods
  2. Low energy consumption compared to other methods of water treatment
  3. Possibility of continuous use without the need for rest or special maintenance
  4. Ease of working with the device and reducing maintenance costs
  5. Microorganisms in water do not pass through semi-permeable membranes (bacteria, viruses, amoebae, etc.)
  6. Possibility of returning concentrated water to the environment or reusing water in the device
